Kathleen Slaunwhite (BA, RHN, RYT) is the owner of Halifax Hydrotherapy. She is an experienced practitioner, actively providing colon hydrotherapy treatments since 2008. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Saint Mary’s University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Woman’s Studies, and in 2007 graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She focused her studies with a specialization in digestion. Following her graduation, Kathleen completed her training in Colon Hydrotherapy, studying under Janet Budgell in Toronto, Ontario. She then furthered her studies with a second training under the Edgar Cayce Colonics from the Cayce/Reily School of Massotherapy in Virginia, USA. Kathleen is also an alumni faculty member at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where she taught Symptomatology.
Consistently weaving alongside her studies on nutrition and health has been the physical practice of yoga. Kathleen has completed two 200hr Yoga Teacher certifications from Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio in Halifax and is a Registered Yoga Teacher under Yoga Alliance.
Her experience in assisting and supporting patients with mild to severe irritable bowel diseases, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, atonic bowel, spinal cord injuries, and cancer also deepened her understanding of health, self-care, and the healing capabilities of the human body. Kathleen is gifted at encouraging others to find their own unique balance.
Kathleen continues to study the ever-changing, growing body of knowledge in both the holistic and medical wellness fields. She believes in a complementary approach while maintaining a firm respect for the medical profession. Having worked with patients who have serious medical conditions, she recognizes the necessity of medical intervention but also notes how transformative and empowering it can be for an individual to make lifestyle and nutritional changes to see major health improvements. Looking ahead, she is excited to further her studies with a focus in Chelation Therapy when she completes her Bachelor of Nursing degree.
